ATDBio's Oxford site achieves ISO 9001 certification
ATDBio is pleased to announce that its Oxford site has achieved ISO 9001 certification.
The Oxford laboratory was established in 2013 as an R&D hub to support the main production facility in Southampton, and was expanded in 2014 to meet a growing need for oligonucleotide synthesis. The laboratory is located at the Oxford Science Park, alongside innovative companies including Oxford Nanopore Technologies, Exscientia and Enara Bio. R&D activities have focussed on exploring new techniques and areas of research, in collaboration with customers and collaborators, often funded by research grants. Research areas include synthesis and optimization of DNA aptamers, DNA nanotechnology and improved bead design for single cell sequencing.
The volume of production work carried out in the Oxford laboratory has increased over the years in response to increasing customer demand, culminating in a major increase in production capacity in 2020 to support large scale production of oligonucleotides for COVID-19 testing. ISO 9001 certification allows ATDBio to offer additional production capacity to customers, with the assurance of a quality management system in place, while maintaining the excellence in R&D that the company is known for.
ISO 9001:2015 is an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems, designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements. ATDBio's ISO 9001:2015 certificate was awarded by the British Standards Institution (BSI), the UK's national standards body. Both ATDBio sites now have ISO 9001:2015 certification.
